Marauder Galleries
Chris Pinkney’s new build Mk1 Marauder, great background to this Marauder, it was actually prepared by Mardave for a model store in Oxford (Oxford Model Centre) to feature in their window display along side what looks like a really rare piece of advertising, the store included the A4 advert with the sale, not many Mk1’s like this out there! Jan 2023.
Chassis No.3 - Kev
Early Mk1 chassis including extremely rare mint condition wheels & tyres, some small differences noticed around the drive train compared to the later examples. Highly detailed clean & build completed with shell to follow.

Kev's 2nd Marauder chassis
Another high standard restoration in progress, chassis straightened & cleaned, bent drive shaft also straightened out, rust removed, mangled spur replaced, fuel tank sourced. Going to look great!

Marauder Restoration by Kev
Extremely detailed restoration with full strip & clean, chassis was found to have some bends etc from past life, once these were straightened out a black vinyl was applied to improve the appearance. Missing fuel tank support posts have been sourced along with new CV joints and Kamtec body cut ready for spraying. This Marauder will be a runner!

New built Marauder by Lewis
Found this Marauder NIB with new period accessories (air filter/exhaust/steel gear) built for display with Box Art paint job completed. I think it would have been a very early facelift model in the older style box due to the wheels & tyres supplied.

My new marauder by Pete T
Here's my new Marauder ( Big thank you to Pete H ), its been completely stripped down cleaned and rebuilt, the body shell needed cutting out and wing mounting so it looks pretty much new with the body fitted, the chassis has cleaned up really nice as has all the plastic parts so I'm really happy with it. This one is going to have a box art paint job by Chingy (see links page) to finish it off.

LEWIS's MARAUDER
Here's some shots of the Marauder I've restored, had always liked the Marauder from when I was a young lad in the late 80s but never owned one, with the good prices on these I picked one up off eBay and tried to restore it to a close box-art, since the photo's Mardave Marauder logos have been added to the sides.

MARDAVE MARAUDER
1/8 TH SCALE (BY PETE T)
This is my Mardave Marauder, its the first Marauder I've owned and I'm really happy with it so far. I have fitted a new shell from Kamtec, new front wheels and an NOS radio box. The buggy came with a front shock tower mod so I've trying different shock sizes and have a set of four new chrome shocks on order. I would like to say a big thank you to Pete H for the rollbar and servo mount parts.

From Dave Staniland
Dave has really beefed his car up with some monster wheels - courtesy of the first pair of axles that I sold on Ebay. Comments from Dave:
Hi here is some pic of my marauder now I have fitted the hex adapters I have put thunder tiger ssk wheels on rear and have put tamiya monster beetle on the front gives me better ground clearance for off road

The current Maruader that I am working on & running. Mods:
1. Best wheels and tyres on grass are the Tamiya Sand Rover / Holiday Buggy (DT02 - re-release).
2. To get front wheels (with ball races) to fit perfectly, shim the stub axle with a strip of aluminum drinks can.
3. Gearbox and rear wishbone ball raced (the car runs on for a very long time - must think about brakes!)
4. Spektrum (well, Orange GR300 receiver) radio gear.
5. Metal universal joint from E-bay - after first 10 mins of hard running a pin came out - replaced with cotter pin which is holding up fine.
6. Pair of my custom made axles with standard 7mm hexes, plus washers to pack out to stop wheels rubbing shocks. Cut Down to 82mm total length to fit UJs.
7. Oil filled shocks for rock crawler truck.
8. Cut down body to make way for shocks.
Car is brilliant now. A bit ugly, but in a good way. The rear UJs really improved the handling, does tight turns on short, wet (now very muddy & worn) grass like its on rails. Car just runs & runs & puts a big smile on my face!
