Found this extremely rare 1/8th Lola T294 on ebay listed as a Vintage Nitro Race Car, the only reference I've found on this car is a French Magazine review of the build which I will add to the site. It features a very early flat chassis with some of its design very similar to the 1972 RC Alfa, I'm guessing this would of been released 1974/75?

Had hoped to remove all nuts & screws, soak in white vinegar or something and reuse! A number had literally fused together meaning the dremel was the only option, found a great supplier of near exactly the same hardware using the correct "4BA" size with slot heads to maintain the original look.
Radio box & Engine now mounted back on the chassis along with most of the front assembly, I'm going to remake the steering rods once I've found some suitable servo horns (originals had gone brittle & snapped)
48 hours in a 50/50 Dettol/Water solution and the paint, glue, dirt just brushed off! I've used this method a few times now for stripping with great results.
Bodywork - Rear Spoiler made from 1mm plastic card, then with body stripped of paint the spoiler has been positioned with tape just to check if it looks right, not 100% sure on how to attach it yet but pleased with the look.
After considering how fragile such a large spoiler will be I decided to make some support tabs which will give the option of removing it if need be, these have been bonded to the shell in the original slots and then filled/sanded to blend them in. The side plates have also been shortened slightly as I felt it was sitting to high, then after adding another sheet to the spoiler plate to make it thicker and prevent it bowing as much it was all ready for spraying! Thank God for the warmer weather as I've learnt the hard way in the past about spraying in the cold and wondering why the paint was running off like water.
Custom made exhaust purchased for the OS engine.
Finished! Keen to use the original main colour as the Lola had been that way for 40 years, then applied the Box-art design on top of the Blue, Decal's as close as possible to the Box look with the Gulf logo's used on the front to suit the colour scheme. This Lola is now one of my favourite's within my Mardave collection! Lewis.
