PETE T's COBRA BUILD
This is my Mardave Cobra Sport, another bargain buy from E bay for only £40 complete with box, manuals, radio gear and a battery. I haven't done anything to the car since I brought it and its very dirty with loose parts and a few missing nuts etc so its time to strip it down give all the parts a good clean and rebuild it.
I'm going to rebuilding the model as stock with no upgrades or mods as I want to keep it an original sport version. I will be replacing old worn out parts with new parts later on in the build after it has been rebuilt and checked over.

It only takes four screws and the whole rear end is off the chassis. As I'm stripping the parts I'm going to be putting them in plastic tubs to keep all the parts together, I use a separate tub for the plastic parts, metal parts and gearbox parts. I had great difficulty removing the rear upright pins from the wishbones so I have left them on as I don't want to damage the parts. |
All the parts have been cleaned and now I'm going to start building the chassis, I'm starting with the shocks then the front end and all the steering components, a lot of cobra owners move the shocks to the front and the steering linkages to the back to make the handling more stable round bends but this build will stick to manual. |
